My name is Machiko, and Kouka is the calligraphy name given to me by my calligraphy teacher in Japan.
I’m a Japanese calligrapher and instructor based in the Dallas area. Since 2011, I have been sharing Japanese calligraphy through lessons, events, workshops, and custom artwork.
I enjoy helping each person experience calligraphy in their own way—whether they are learning the basics, trying calligraphy for the first time, enjoying it as part of a group, or looking for a unique piece of artwork.
My goal is simple: to help people of all ages and skill levels discover and enjoy the art of Japanese calligraphy.
